About the Job
Ridgefield Academy/Landmark Preschool is seeking an energized and engaging teacher to lead specials ranging from art to music and movement, while also serving as a floating assistant teacher within our preschool classrooms, ages 2 through 4. This dynamic position offers an exciting opportunity to bring creativity, enthusiasm, and flexibility to our preschool program while getting to know our students and community in a unique and varied way.
In this role, you will develop and implement planned activities and lessons using the framework of the curriculum (incorporating monthly themes, holidays,etc) and effectively supervise and instruct students through playful learning activities. You will partner closely with the head teachers to develop special lessons and activities as well as assist in prep, planning and set up in the classroom.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Develop and implement large and small group planned activities and lesson plans with differentiated instruction that support the children’s age-appropriate learning.
- Consistently utilize appropriate language, interactions, and positive discipline and model positive behavior.
- Supervise children appropriately ensuring a safe classroom environment.
- Partner with colleagues to create a fun learning experience.
- Maintain confidentiality of students and families.
- Assist Head Teachers with lessons and activities.
- Help with arrival and dismissal duties.
- Additional responsibilities, as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with children in a classroom setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable, professional and passionate about working with young children.
Additional Information:
- Reports to the Preschool Director.
- Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am-12:00pm.
- This is a part time position with a salary range of $20-24/hour based on experience.
