Ridgefield Academy is an independent coeducational day school serving grades PreK-8. We are seeking a Head Coach for Boys Soccer in our Middle School sports program for grades 6-8. This position is for the fall season beginning on September 2, 2026 and ending on November 12, 2026.
Responsibilities Include:
- Organize and run practices to help improve athlete’s fundamental skills, form and stamina
- Maintain rosters and team records
- Mentor players to develop sportsmanship and respect for the game
- Coach games and motivate student-athletes consistent with the school’s athletic philosophy
- Ride on bus to and from games
- Assure parents sign out child when leaving from a game
- Be aware of safety conditions
- Adhere to the school’s mission and abide by the coaching handbook
- Communicate as needed with the Athletic Director
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years prior experience coaching youth
- Must be punctual and proactive in coaching and leading a sport’s team
- Must provide three professional references and pass a background check
- Must have a High School diploma, Bachelor’s Degree a plus
The coaching commitment is typically Monday through Thursdays from 2:30-3:30. Games are usually every week and are typically scheduled from 3:45pm to 5:00pm, not including travel time back to campus from games away. There are no weekend commitments.
This is a stipend position based on experience. The pay range is $2,500 - $3,000 for a Head Coach which is issued in two installments throughout the season.
